To quote the Best Boss Ever, “God has the whole world in his hands.” These are the words our General Manager Julie said during our recent Spring Shareathon, when we were all feeling a little weird with so many crazy things going on in the world and our city at the time. We were all especially feeling grief when a tornado hit a community that is only three miles away from our Lifesongs Studios. In an amazing display of Faith and Grace Julie asked that we put everything on pause. Meaning we shut down Shareathon and just went home to regroup. We were still a good ways away from our financial goal, but I think it was good for us all to take a moment and reflect on our blessings as well as pray for our community that was literally picking up pieces.
We hit the ground running the next day and had one of the BEST mornings financially with gifts coming in at close to $10,000 in the first four hours ! It was a rainbow day to all of us after the storm !
Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
I’m so grateful to be part of a team that genuinely believes in the ministry of Lifesongs. Our Mission Statement is “Sharing God’s Love with Southeast Louisiana through authentic and uplifting radio.” I felt it was one of the most authentic things we could have done as a radio station to pause our event and “Be Still”. I also believe that God showed us all that there is nothing we can do on our own, and we must rely on Him. Sometimes when we are in the midst of Shareathon , we get a little discouraged personally if we don’t hit those hourly Goals, but God always shows up in His time and His ways! The Best part of this story is..God used YOU!
