Thank you for your interest in sharing your music ministry with LifeSongs. We receive many inquiries from local and independent artists asking us to play their music. Because we have a limited number of space available in our playlists, selecting music is done through research, by a committee, and according to established criteria.
Some of the criteria for music selection includes high audio and recording quality, production value, vocal performance, lyrical content, distribution and availability for purchase (must be readily accessible).
Music submissions are received “for consideration” of on-air play. Music may be submitted by mail to Music Director, LifeSongs Radio, 3939 Gentilly Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70126. Songs should be submitted in CD format. CDs submitted for review become the property of the radio station and will not be returned.
Due to the volume of submissions, song review and evaluation services are not available. Please visit the Gospel Music Association website for more resources on song and artist development. If a submission is selected, a LifeSongs representative will contact you.
With regard to musical performance rights, LifeSongs holds licenses with ASCAP, BMI and SESAC only. By submitting music for consideration, you represent that the submitted music has been registered with one of these three performing rights organizations. Alternatively, if you are not a member of these organizations, you represent and warrant that you hold these rights personally and grant LifeSongs the right to broadcast your material. Because we also stream music over the internet, by submitting music for consideration you represent and warrant that you hold these rights personally and grant LifeSongs the right to stream your material on a non-interactive, non-subscription basis.
Other Resources you may find helpful:
Christian Musician Summit conferences help train and equip independent artists with practical resources.
Gospel Music Association SongReview songwriting critique service allows your song to not only be heard, but also reviewed by a professional writer in the Christian Music Industry, providing constructive feedback.
Thank you again for your interest. We pray God continues to use you and your gift to glorify Him.
