For many of us, this past year has been a tough one. If you’ve lost someone you love or find yourself navigating through a season of grief, Ryan Stevenson’s song “When We Fall Apart” may be just the encouragement you need. He was inspired to write it after his mother passed away.

Ryan says, “The last words my mother spoke to me are the words to this song. Even in the face of imminent death, she was pouring out wisdom and words of healing and encouragement to me that it’s ok to cry, it’s ok to grieve, it’s ok to fall apart. We are all going to experience loss at some point to some degree. This song has been my way of working through and navigating one of the most painful storms of my life. I hope it encourages you to do the same.”

Ever just feel weighed down by the noise of life? Whether it’s scrolling through our phones or the opinions of others or just simple distractions, we can be bogged down by these things when they drown out the Voice of Truth. There is HOPE in God and His promises, what HE says for us. God’s got you, and because of that truth, we can keep on hoping. That’s the message in Riley Clemmon’s song, “Keep On Hoping.”

Most of us, at one time or another, have been at the place where we come to the end of ourselves, and our only option left is to cry out to God. And there’s a decent number of songs about that moment. But, there are very few songs that have been written from the time after that moment. A lot of times, those rock bottom moments are the things that change the course of our lives. They are the things that play a huge part in who we become. As we look back, we almost become thankful for them and find joy where we couldn’t have even imagined. NEEDTOBREATHE’s song “Survival” is about just that.
