It’s natural for us to hide our scars; whether they’re physical, emotional or spiritual. If we’re being honest, it’s probably because we’re afraid of what people would think about us – or worse, that our scars are our identity. As I AM THEY was writing their song, “Scars,” the band says they had this realization that Jesus did not hide His scars, in fact they were a constant reminder of all He had sacrificed. His scars don’t tell a story of death or failure – they tell a story of life and love. What if we looked at our lives the same way? What if we walked in confidence that everything we’ve been through has laid a foundation for what God wants to do through us? Because of His scars, we have redemption for our own.
