You can’t pour from an empty cup. Have you ever heard that saying? How do we stay “full” enough to pour out to others? Receiving good things in life can still leave us feeling empty if we aren’t filled up by Christ. Temporary things will never satisfy. The sibling trio of CAIN say the heart of their song “Living Water” is realizing “Jesus is the prize, not Jesus giving you the prize. He is it. He’s the prayer you’re praying, the answer you need, the living water. Things, even good things, will leave you empty, but Jesus never will.
God’s heart and goodness are not limited by bad news, good news, or difficult Mondays; His love is constant. Just like an evergreen tree stays green year-round, God’s faithfulness remains the same yesterday, today, and forever. Chris from Rend Collective shares of their song “Evergreen,” “After years of wrestling and questioning, living out and singing about the hard parts of faith, this song is a return to the joy and simplicity I had at the start. Singing about God’s faithfulness is always meaningful, but it’s more special to me now than ever having been through genuinely tough seasons and come out the other side.”
