Ever feel like you’re off balance? Trying to handle everything but feeling burdened by the weight of it all? Our efforts on their own will never provide the relief we’ll find when we simply lean into God to steady ourselves. When we feel unsteady, we can rest on God. When life leaves us in need of rest, we don’t need to look anywhere other than to God, who is standing by our side. Matt Maher’s song “Leaning” is a great reminder of this truth. Matt explains, “There are times in life where on either side of a difficult season you’re either asking, ‘How am I going to get through this?’ or, you’re on the other side looking back in amazement saying, ‘How did I get through this?’ That’s where I find that the most sincere, real, authentic prayers get prayed.”

We don’t know what tomorrow looks like. We have no idea what the future holds. But the invitation that we have from God is to wake up every single day and use the rising of the sun as a metaphor for his faithfulness. Pat Barrett’s song “Morning By Morning (I Will Trust)” reminds us that, whether you’re awake to see it or not, the morning is proof that His faithfulness will meet us today, tomorrow and the next day just like He has up to this point.
