New Year’s Resolution | Vance

This is the time of the year that everyone hits the restart button…Kind of like a Newsboys song. Well, as I look back in 2017, the greatest year of my life, I don’t want to hit restart. I want to press forward and continue this journey.

You see my favorite verse in the bible is Jer 29:11. It says “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” WOW! That is so powerful.

God has blessed me so much with a new family in LifeSongs, and since starting Here, I gained amazing people to work with, and I have met some of the most wonderful listeners of LifeSongs in the community.  I consider myself blessed to see and hear all the amazing stories at the events, concerts, and through emails. I could not ask GOD for a better career.

Now, was the year filled with only happiness and fun?

No, I experienced loss, pain, and hurt just like may of you and in gaining my new family I experienced their loss, pain, and hurt as well. As I look into the new year, and what it has to offer, I can’t help but know that this year is going to be filled with some of the same. I Know that I will have to look back over the year and break down the verse that I hold so deep in my heart. For I know the plans I have for you….DECLARES THE LORD…..wow reading that just makes me feel amazing. The Lord “Declares”this over us, GOD himself “Declares” this not just says it,  but Declares it. GOD follows “for I know the plans I have for you” with  “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”. GOD’s future, hmmm what a wonderful thing to stop and think about that for a min. GOD says he will give me and us a bright hope and a future. If you have experienced loss or pain maybe even suffered this year, remember Jer 29:11. Speak it into you life and KNOW that GOD’s GOT this and You.

With that said then I don’t want to hit RESTART. Rather, I want to press forward into what GOD has planed for me. I know that the unknown can be scary at times, however after reading Jar 29:11 there is no more fear because, GOD is good all the time.
