Into The Unknown | Jojo

What’s the last big thing you did before the coronavirus shut down the city and schools back in March?

For me, it was a business trip to California in January.

And looking back, God used that trip to prepare me for what was to come!

It was my very FIRST experience on the West coast. It’s also the first time I had to rent a car in a state I’ve never been to and drive an extra hour and a half to get to where I needed to be!

I must say that I was VERY intimidated! Heard the saying “fear of the unknown”? That type of situation normally makes me extremely anxious, but I was determined to do it!

I had NO idea what it would be like to drive in the desert. (Somehow, we’ve always got this ‘idea’ of what something is supposed to look like/be like and most of the time, it’s completely opposite!)

So I hopped in a green kia soul and started the trek.

Am I the only one extremely grateful for Google Maps? My sense of direction isn’t always on point! (My dad and I have that in common!)

I love how you can input the address, and it takes you there. Without question. (There are times though when it takes you some crazy ways..down backstreets, back roads, & weird highways!) But nonetheless, you get to where you need to be.

Why is it that you and I can trust google maps to get us where we need to go, (even if it’s unchartered territory) but we find it difficult to trust God with the unknown? After all, He is the One who spoke the world into existence and knows & sees all things from the beginning to the end.

That’s where you and I have found ourselves…..driving along an unfamiliar highway, blindfolded, in a strange rental car, with a GPS guiding you to your next mysterious destination. You know what, that takes a lot of trust!

What’s ahead in current life (with school, the economy, and the health crisis) is unknown to you and I, but God already knows how it’s all going to play out. He’s already worked out the situation & the details on your behalf. He’s crossed every T, and dotted every i. He’s just asking you to walk out the next step of faith.

So get in the rental car, and face the unknown with the confidence that God is guiding you to exactly where you need to be, at the exact time, for His specific purpose.
