We’re having FUN this summer, and you’re keeping the fun going and sharing hope by supporting LifeSongs during our Friendraiser! Thank you!!
We’ve been praying for 100 friends to join the giving family of LifeSongs. That support keeps the message of God’s love flowing through LifeSongs! And, for every friend that gives, a portion is being donated to Giving Hope food pantry to keep feeding families in need in our community (each gift feeds 10 people this month).
Our prayer this week was for 100 friends to join us by giving $100 each, supporting LifeSongs and helping to feed 1,000 people in our community through Giving Hope food pantry. Thanks to your generosity, we’ve surpassed that goal! Because of you, over 1,500 people (1,557) in New Orleans will now have access to much needed food this month! Your generosity is making such a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. Thank you for helping Southeast Louisiana be encouraged by hopeful messages of God’s goodness every day on LifeSongs! THANK YOU!
Having FUN while making a difference?! That’s a win-win!
Together we’re feeding the helpless with Giving Hope NOLA – and feeding the hopeless through LifeSongs!
THANK YOU!!
Giving Hope is dedicated to providing essential food to individuals and families in need.
The Food Pantry of New Orleans was established in 2013 after Toyota of New Orleans transformed a building on their property into a soup kitchen. It has now grown to provide groceries and hot meals to senior citizens and families in our community.
Ms. Betty, the Chief Operations Director of the pantry, says, “…in a city known for food, it is a shame that so many people are going hungry every day.” There are currently two Giving Hope food banks serving the New Orleans area, one in the East and the other on the Westbank.
Giving Hope food pantry programs have played a crucial role in fighting food insecurity in the community. By collaborating with partners and dedicated volunteers, they have supplied essential food to individuals and families in need
In 2023, the program served over 327,000 hot meals to senior citizens and people
experiencing homelessness and over 7.2 million pounds of groceries to low-income families.
Giving Hope’s 2024 Food Pantry Impact:
Total Pounds of Groceries Distributed = 7.7 Million
Total Value of Food Distributed = $14+ Million
People Reached = Over 35,000
Hot Meals Served = 335,000
Hunger in the U.S. has ticked up in recent years with rising inflation, budget cuts and the end of pandemic-era programs that expanded food aid.
In Louisiana, one out of five children are struggling with hunger. And many of these have less access to healthy meals and snacks over the summer, when school is not in session. One in six people in Louisiana are food insecure, which means they do not always know where they will find their next meal. An elderly neighbor, a child’s classmate, a coworker, a member of your church – someone you know is hungry.
Thank you to each friend who gave – you are helping meet the needs of so many families this month through Giving Hope. God bless you!
