There’s a lot going on in the world right now. Some might even say it’s on fire. Joel and Luke Smallbone from for King & Country wanted to flip that phrase on its head with their song “World On Fire.” They share, “This to us represents this idea of being bold, brave, powerful, optimistic, hopeful.. because there is so much to live for and because God has given so much opportunity and beauty in the world, too. To step out into that bright, bold, beautiful future is really what this song represents for us. Our hope is when you listen to this song you ask yourself, how bright is my light? We hope for us and for you, that light will continue to grow. With all the mixed messaging in the world today I think the greatest witness we can be- for God, for each other, for love, for hope, for joy, for peace- is actually just literally living it out for the world to see. We hope you’re encouraged by it.”
One thing has always been true and it’s NOTHING new – God is always winning! Jordan Feliz’s song “Can’t Lose” is about recognizing God’s faithfulness and the peace that comes from gratitude. Life’s biggest victories and peace stem from knowing God has the victory.
Jason Gray’s song “Be Kind” was inspired by a quote from a 19th-century preacher Ian Maclaren, which says, “Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.” The song grew from Jason’s personal experiences with receiving and witnessing acts of kindness during his own struggles, prompting him to write a song that encourages others to see people with empathy, knowing that everyone is likely going through their own difficult time. May we be reminded every time we hear it to look for opportunities to Be Kind.
