Samantha Ebert’s song “Flowers” was inspired by her own struggles with Lyme disease, particularly the period where she was bedridden with pain and felt like her hope was fading. She found comfort and inspiration in the “get well soon” flowers on her bedside table, realizing that even in the darkest times, beautiful things can still emerge. May it be a reminder to trust God in the midst of suffering and encouragement to find Hope, even in the valley.
The song “Fight of My Life” by Rend Collective is a personal anthem for Chris Llewellyn, the band’s lead singer, about his battle with depression and the fight for mental health. Despite the serious subject matter, the band describes it as the “most joyful song about depression”. “Even inside that battle,” he shares, “I find that Jesus has been my joy and has been my hope. I want to give an anthem for people who are going through similar things.”
