Isaiah 48:10 inspired Jeremy Camp’s song “No Survivors.” It’s about complete surrender to God, sacrificing our ego and pride by throwing them into the fire. May it encourage you to let go of the past and embrace a new beginning as you become more like Christ.
Do you ever feel the need to have it “all together” before coming to God in prayer? Leanna Crawford can relate. She says, “In many of the Psalms we hear from King David calling out to the Lord. At times he’s anxious, depressed and honest with everything he’s feeling and walking through. He’s also praising God in the middle of it all. I’ve felt at times that I need to have it all together before I come to Jesus, but He doesn’t ask for that. He wants to hear our honest prayers, when we feel messy and broken, when we’re afraid or discouraged. There’s no prayer too big or small for Him. I pray my song ‘Honest’ reminds you that it’s okay to be honest with God.”
Brandon Heath’s song “Highly Favored” is a reminder that even in those hard times we go through, God’s favor on us does not end. He lavishes His love on us in all seasons. Even the challenging ones can be a blessing.
