As we head #Back2School, wonderful teachers have already been hard at work preparing lesson plans, decorating rooms and praying for their students. Let’s honor these great teachers – and help them out!
LifeSongs presents: The Teacher of the Week!
Get to Know Our Teacher of the Week:
Name: Vanessa Morehouse
School: Higgins High School
Years Teaching: I’ve been teaching since 2013.
I love teaching high school students because I can literally watch how they mature from unsure, sometimes worried freshmen to almost mature young men and women ready for their new adventure as young adults. It’s amazing, fulfilling and satisfying to watch. I am so proud of them as they graduate. I beam with pride as I watch this process knowing I have a small part and hopefully Godly influence in their life.
Prayer Request: Many students at Higgins need prayers and come from impoverished homes. All kids get free lunch because many cannot pay for lunch. Some have parents, many do not and are being raised by relatives or foster parents or guardians. Mostly pray for their well-being and for salvation through our Lord Jesus.
Previous Teacher(s) of the Week:

Mrs. Erin believes in the power of strong relationships with students and their families, creating a supportive environment where children feel seen, valued, and empowered. Erin finds deep joy in watching her students grow—academically, socially, and emotionally—into the future leaders of our world.
Prayer Request: “Please pray that I continue to have wisdom, patience, and strength as I guide and support my students each day. Pray that our classroom remains a place of joy, safety, and growth for every child.”
