As I write this blog post, it is the last day of January: Wow! I know this is cliché, but it seriously seems like just the other day that I sat in my friend’s back yard on New Year’s Eve and watched the multitude of fireworks sparkle and pop all around me. As I get older, time passes so much quicker. Or, at least it seems to, since seconds have and always will tick at the same rate.
As I think about how the seconds tick by each day, I am grateful for the many instances in which God has used me to advance His Kingdom. But in that same thought, I am also convicted about how many times I have let opportunities pass where I could have served Him or been used by Him to help others.
As I said, January is over. By now, most people have failed in their New Year’s resolution, or at least struggled to keep it up. So here is my challenge to us all: As we begin the month of February, lets look for ways to serve Him more. Lets keep our eyes open to what He is already doing around us, and jump on board! As we continue on in 2013, lets not worry so much about our failures that have occurred; instead, lets make a conscious decision to be used by God in every second, of every minute of every day.
