Happy Holidays? The word 'holiday' actually comes from "Holy Day." In ancient times these days were given to workers so they could go to church and worship. Jesus is the reason we celebrate this Christmas holiday. We encourage you and your family to truly celebrate this Christmas. Enjoy giving one another gifts, singing Christmas carols, baking holiday goodies and all the other traditions, all while keeping Christ at the center. Here are a few ways to do just that:
WORSHIP FULLY: Entering the advent season means entering this season with an overwhelming passion to worship Jesus to the fullest.
SPEND LESS: Consider spending less this Christmas (maybe buying on less gifts). It sounds insignificant, but you may find you are more available to celebrate Christ during the advent season.
GIVE MORE: God's gift to us was a relationship built on love. So it's no wonder why we're drawn to the idea that Christmas should be a time to love our friends and family in the most memorable ways possible.
LOVE ALL: When Jesus loved, He loved in ways never imagined before. Though rich, He became poor to love the poor, the forgotten, the overlooked and the sick. He played to the margins. By spending less at Christmas we have the opportunity to join Him in giving resources to those who need help the most.
Merry Christmas! |

This year marks the 62nd anniversary of the National Thanksgiving Turkey presentation (and following Presidential Turkey Pardon). Want more turkey facts to gobble about this Thanksgiving? (What's a "snood"? Can turkeys fly?) For most of the year, turkey is relegated to the inside of sandwiches, an anonymous player in the lunchtime line-up. But come Thanksgiving, this proud bird takes center stage, a plump, golden beacon of the holiday. How much do you know about this native American bird? Test your knowledge of turkey trivia and find out with this quiz! |

We're not suggesting that you diet on turkey day, but Thanksgiving doesn't have to send your health spiraling down and your weight soaring up for the rest of the holidays, either. MSN.com has some tips below to help you indulge in every course without breaking the 1,000-calorie barrier. Give thanks!
