Game Day Eats

In Blog by Libby

The Saints may not be marching in to Arizona for Super Bowl XLIX, but that won’t stop us from enjoying our favorite aspect of the big game – the FOOD! Planning a crawfish boil this weekend? Here are a few more ideas to get you started for this weekend’s food football fest!

Julie’s Game Day Eats:

Rustic Shrimp Stew (This has become one of my favorite cool weather recipes! Shrimp, sausage, potatoes, veggies! Yum.)

Kale Dip with Snap Peas (My favorite food is chips & dip – especially during a football game! But my waistline can’t handle those Velveeta based dips.)

Baked Sweet Potato Chips (These sweet potato chips might not be a sufficient replacement for chips meant for dipping, but they are still a tasty treat!)

Libby’s Game Day Eats:

Avocado & Grilled Corn Salad w/ Cilantro Vinaigrette (This is basically glorified salsa. I want to eat it with an entire bag of chips.)

Baked Beet Chips (Try adding a little lemon zest and rosemary to the olive oil for an extra kick of flavor. Be careful, though, as these guys cook..aka “burn” easily. Mix these in with Julie’s sweet potato chips above – I bet they’d be even better together!)

Healthy Chipotle Chicken Sweet Potato Skins (I know “healthy” is in the title of this recipe, but that does not mean these don’t taste great. TRUST ME.)

Red-Hot Popcorn (Why have I never thought of this?!)

Bradley’s Game Day Eats:

Cheesy Yum Dip:

1 block Velveeta
1 lb. cooked ground beef (or turkey)
1 large jar of salsa (you can use more or less, mild or hot!)

Mix all ingredients into a crockpot and cook until cheese is melted and dip is heated through (approx. 2 hours). Serve with tortilla chips and enjoy!

Tara’s Game Day Eats:

I have a Superbowl sweet tooth!

S’mores Dip (Super delicious and super easy to make!)

Football Ice Cream Sandwiches (Also super easy to make, and super cute and football-themed!)

Muddy Buddy’s (Of course! My absolute favorite snacking food, and why should Superbowl Sunday be any different? :))

Do you have a “go-to” recipe? A favorite football comfort food? What are YOU making for Super Bowl Sunday?
