It’s hard to believe we are discussing things to do at Christmas with our family, but in reality, there are only 21 days until Christmas Eve. For some like myself, who haven’t thought about gifts, food, or details of trips and family events, you may be feeling a little overwhelmed right now.
One thing I love to do when feeling overwhelmed around this time of the year is to think back to the things that made Christmas fun and meaningful for me as a child. It wasn’t the gifts, it wasn’t the food, it wasn’t the agendas or even the things we did. Often times it was just the simplicity of spending time with family, sometimes even just doing menial things with them.
One specific memory I have is reading the Christmas story on Christmas Eve with my Mom, Dad and sister. Another was picking out my favorite pieces of fudge, with Mom and Dad, and prepping a tall glass of milk for Santa! It’s the little meaningful things like these that we will always look back and remember, not the gifts, the food, the decorations or the agenda.

Whatever you decided to do with your family over the Christmas holiday I hope that you make the most of your time together, that you create meaningful memories with your family and most of all that Christ is at the center of all your celebrations!
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
